Friends of Nickolls and Perks, Will, Jon, Mitch and Tom are driving an old Toyota Yaris 10,000 miles to Mongolia for charity:

Steppe Response Mongol Rally 2014

This seemingly bonkers idea is to help raise awareness and money for a condition close to our hearts, FOP or fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva. 

FOP is a disorder in which fibrous muscle and ligament tissue is gradually replaced by bone, reducing mobility more and more over time.  There is currently no cure and because it is such a rare condition it suffers from lack of funding and support.

We’re delighted to be sponsoring the team and are following their progress with interest and baited breath.  Starting in London, so far, they’ve driven their aging, cramped, underpowered  Toyota through Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, and Azerbaijan.  As at 5th August, the team has reached Aktau, Kazakhstan.  We wish them well as their adventure continues and look forward to seeing them upon their return and hearing their stories.
