The sun was shining for what promised to be a dram fine day out at the 2nd Midlands Whisky Festival held at Stourbridge Town Hall…

Whisky Fest is here!  Saturday 29th September 2012

Thanks to everyone – customers, exhibitors, organising staff and Jock our piper, who all played their part in making the event such a success.
We had record crowds this year, Stourbridge Town Hall was full of enthusiastic drammers who marvelled at the quality and quantity of whiskies available to taste.

Don’t just take our word for it, ths is what people have said:

“What a day we had! It is safe to say that the Midlands Whisky Festival rocks”

“A great venue, very well organised, two fantastic masterclasses and an incredible selection of whiskies to sample. Siincere congratulations are due to you and your team.”

There were plenty of things to shout about:

Colin Dunn sings the praises of Port Ellen
  • The N&P Festival Special Single Cask Glenfarclas (tasted live on BBC Radio WM at 7.45 a.m. – Just the thing for breakfast)
  • Masterclasses with Colin Dunn (enthusing loudly about Port Ellen) and
  •  Melanie Stanger (splendid selection of newly or soon-to-be released examples from Springbank)
  • First public taste of Macallan Gold from their new 1824 series.
  • Dream Drams covering all corners of your palate from the likes of Ben Riach Authenticus Peated 25 yr old, Yamazaki Suntory 18 yr old, Glengoyne The Auld Enemy 21 yr old Sherry But, Balvenie Portwood 21 yr old Glenfarclas 105 20 yr old, Tomatin 40 yr old and others.

Here’s one that wasn’t opened on the day for tasting, though it’s still a great opportunity for Whisky Festival visitors to feast their eyes on this rare example.  (Yes we do have it in stock, and yes, it is for sale, and no, it’s not quite the most expensive whisky we have at N&P)

Like everyone we spoke to on the day, we’re all looking forward to next year’s Midlands Whisky Festival.

We’ll be back!

Sláinte!
